Who's the Boss! When your shooting a Kids Headshot?
When your client is a one year old, and has shot with the likes of Oshkosh, Infantino, and the People Choice Awards. Siyah Gillis gets to be the boss! Shooting with a really young kid like Siyah is like shooting with an A-list celebrity, being that she is just a few months older than one, you only have her attention for about fifteen minutes before she is ready to move on to something else. The difference is she doesn't have to catch a flight or get to that big meeting she is just a kid wanting to being a kid. So I had to be fast to get her personality in these shots.
Working with kids is truly amazing, I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of kids over the years, and it still puts a smile on my face. For every one out there thinking hey my kid can do that! It's a real possibility! Agencies are always looking for kids, of all ages. The trick is can your child take directions even tho they are so young. If you have the kind of kid that cant sit still or take any directions at all, then I would say OK, No!
But, if your child is full of personality that shines in a crowd, then its time to think about getting them out there, and shopping them with some agencies
One of the most important steps on the way to becoming a young talent is getting a great headshot. If you tried the my cousin just bought a nice camera route and that headshot didn't get a second look from the agencies. It's time to invest more time and money into a professional headshot. You will be amazed at the difference of not only how the shot looks but the way the agencies respond to your child's new headshot.
